We have TWO full time positions available and are looking for an experienced, Ophthalmic Technician or Medical Assistant as well as an Administrative Front Desk Receptionist with a desire to work in Ophthalmology. Qualifications include positive, team-player attitude, ability to excel in fast-paced environment with a broad age demographic- primarily the elderly. You will work closely with the providers as well as the rest of the care team to ensure the patients receive optimal care in a timely manner.
Ophthalmic Technician or Medical Assistant
You will obtain patient history to include chief complaint, history of present illness, family history including history of allergies and medications. Perform diagnostic testing including Visual Fields, Fundus Photography, OCT and IOL’s on the most advanced equipment.
Administrative Front Desk Position
You will be responsible for greeting, checking in and out the patients in an appropriate manner, scheduling patient appointments, answering phones, checking insurance eligibility, issuing insurance referrals, collecting co-pays and all outstanding balances, maintaining the reception area and patient waiting room as well as other reception area services as needed.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
1. Exceptional organization skills with attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
2. Professional communication skills while greeting patients in person and over the phone with an award-winning smile.
3. Must be punctual and adhere to policy and procedures during all activities.
4. Perform all duties within HIPAA regulations.
5. Strong computer skills (Microsoft) and schedule appointments using an EHR.
6. Ability to work as a team member and motivated to learn and succeed
7. Empathetic personality giving attention to patient’s needs and concerns.
8. Respectful treatment of patients and co-workers.
9. Communicate information to appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Experience in medical practice is preferred and bilingual is a plus.
