Absolutely this! Especially after my car crash in 2007, I felt this. I had a world record for bone damage and blood loss, spent months in ICU, received CPR several times, etc, but the pain i still carry in me, the biggest trauma that still impacts me is from the year that people stopped talking to me. They abandoned me once I was home and alone. I'll never forget that pain of loneliness.
