Hey Mountain Ju**ies! Frozen Toe 10k registration is OPEN! Start the year off on a beautiful trail with some pretty great trail runners! Trail Work Update 🌲🪚
The last two weeks have been perfect for trail maintenance, and we’ve been busy on a couple of our favorite routes.

Last week, we headed out to the Mineshaft 10K course to clean it up in preparation for both the Hellgate 100K this December and our own Mineshaft 10K coming up on April 4, 2026.

Today, we were back on the Sawmill Branch Trail—also known as the Carvins Cove Escape Route. We adopted this trail in 2018 and have been keeping it clear ever since. It connects Carvins Cove to the Appalachian Trail and offers one of the longest continuous climbs around here: about 3.5 miles and 1,750 feet of elevation gain from Happy Valley/Arrowhead up to the top of Tinker Mountain.

We cleared one tree on the way in and another seven dead pines that had fallen across the trail, plus removed sticks and debris along both routes.

Aside from the usual blanket of fall leaves (and plenty more on the way 🍂), both trails are clear and ready for you to get out and enjoy.
