We were delighted to welcome back Rebecca Hardiman and the Karen Carpenter Tribute Band to the Manor for a beautiful concert filled with wonderful songs and heartfelt performances. Her warm voice, expressive style, and joyful spirit created a truly special evening for our community. The band expertly covered every song from Karen Carpenter's Christmas album while sounding just like her! This program was able to transport our residents back in time to fond holiday memories.

Each year, staff and residents get together for a holiday social. This year we sang Christmas carols, enjoyed a trumpet performance by resident John Eicher, and had a surprise visit from Santa!! We always love our time spent together and we are so grateful for each and every resident!

We had a wonderful time with the Just for Fun Singers who filled our Auditorium with bright harmonies and heartfelt energy. Their program featured a cheerful mix of familiar Christmas favorites and uplifting choral pieces. The music had toes tapping, heads nodding, and plenty of smiles all around. There was a wonderful soloist and a few songs where the audience was invited to singalong! This long-term community chorus truly lives up to its name. Their enthusiasm is contagious, and their love of singing shines through every piece. Thank you, Just for Fun Singers, for a delightful and spirited performance!

We were thrilled to welcome the Capital Brass Quintet back to Capital Manor. Their rich brass harmonies, lively arrangements, and easygoing humor brought a wonderful burst of holiday spirit to our community.
From timeless carols to festive favorites, the evening was filled with great music and the warmth of a group that has been connected to the Manor for many years. It was a joy to have them return and help us usher in the season. Thank you, Capital Brass, for a truly delightful performance!

The annual staff holiday party was held at the Green Villa Barn in Independence where we took part in a Murder Mystery dinner. Staff members were chosen at random to play a role and everyone jumped in to solve the mystery. In the end, it was Maria Byron from the Marketing department who committed the crime! Thank you to the Employee Activity Committee for planning a super fun evening!

A group of our Resident Ambassadors helped us DECK THE HALLS by decorating several of the Christmas trees throughout campus! A big thank you to all who helped make this place beautiful.

The Grinch made a surprise appearance at a resident floor meeting bringing gifts to all, making his heart grow three sizes that day. Can you guess who the mystery Grinch was...it was none other than our Executive Director, David Lewis!

Today we celebrate our Corban University Nursing students. These future nurses are in their third year of a four-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree. They spent 6 weeks immersed in a clinical learning experience with our talented nurses at Capital Manor. Chelsey Beaman, Assistant Director of the Nursing Program at Corban, shared that this was the first year to partner with Capital Manor and they will definitely do this again with next year’s Juniors. Kara Hawkes, Capital Manor Director of Nursing, enjoyed hosting and helping develop future nurses.

Since 1963, Capital Manor has been getting better and better! We are currently undergoing a five-phase expansion plan so we can meet the growing needs of the Salem community. After this plan is complete our 37 acre campus will expand to 49 acres. The 5 Phases include: 1. Expand and improve parking, 2. Build a 34 private suite state of the art Memory Care, 3. Build 34 new spacious Westside Villas for Independent Living, 4. Renovate and update our amenities and dining venues, 5. Remodel and renovate the exteriors of our existing villas.

Capital Manor offers a vibrant, active retirement lifestyle where our residents can thrive.
