As we approach November 11, Veterans Day stands as a powerful reminder of the bravery, dedication, and sacrifice of those who have served in the U.S. military â past and present.
First observed as Armistice Day on November 11, 1919, it marked the end of World War I, a conflict that forever changed the world. In 1954, following the tremendous sacrifices of World War II and the Korean War, the holiday was renamed Veterans Day to honor all American veterans, regardless of the conflict in which they served.
This day is an opportunity to reflect on the courage, commitment, and resilience of the men and women who have worn our nationâs uniform. Their service has protected our freedoms, upheld our values, and shaped the history of our country.
As we approach this important day, let us remember the stories of those who served, honor their sacrifices, and express our gratitude to every veteran for their dedication to our nation.
