What does it actually mean to be supportive? 💭💜 Support isn’t about having all the answers or even fully understanding everything about a person’s identity. It’s about making them feel safe, valued, and cared for—exactly as they are. 🌈

True support is:
👂 Listening without judgment.
🤝 Including them in your life and community.
🆘 Helping without trying to change who they are.

We asked our youth what message they would send to the world about kindness. Their answers serve as a powerful reminder that LGBTQ+ youth are a part of all our families, schools, and neighborhoods. Recognizing their humanity and affirming their realities gives them the confidence to be their authentic selves.

🌈 Rainbow Connections is thrilled to kick off our 2026 Digital Campaign, Everyone Belongs: Connecting Hearts, Cultivating Care.

Each month, we’ll spotlight an essential practice that supports the mental health and wellbeing of LGBTQ+ youth—because every young person deserves to be supported and embraced, just as they are.

✨ This month’s focus: EMPATHY.
Empathy is more than understanding—it’s also about showing up, listening deeply, and holding space for others without judgment or trying to change their experience. It’s about seeing through their lens and honoring their truth while remaining fully present.

Rainbow Connections uplifts the voices and lived experiences of LGBTQ+ youth and remains committed to creating spaces where Everyone Belongs.
