Help Us Honor our Veterans! 🧶🪡🇺🇸

At Coastal Hospice, every Veteran in our care is recognized for their service and sacrifice. Through the national We Honor Veterans program, each Veteran receives a special visit, a personalized certificate, and a patriotic blanket lovingly handmade or purchased and donated by our community.

Right now, we are in need of handmade red, white, and blue blankets and quilts to help us continue this tradition. Your time, talent, or donation helps us say thank you in a truly personal way.

How You Can Help:
• Handmade blankets or quilts (minimum 40” x 48”, washable materials)
• Knitted or crocheted 8” squares (Our Coastal Hospice Knitting and Crochet volunteers will piece them together)
• Purchased patriotic fleece blankets

Every stitch, square, and blanket becomes a symbol of appreciation and comfort for a Veteran and their family. Thank you for helping us honor those who have given so much. ❤️🤍💙

Black History Month offers an opportunity to honor the lasting contributions of Black Americans who have helped shape our communities, our nation, and our healthcare system. Providing hospice care within underserved Black communities presents unique considerations, barriers to healthcare access, and deeply rooted cultural beliefs and traditions that can influence end-of-life decisions. 🖤💚❤️🤍

Guided by Coastal Hospice’s mission to promote dignity and quality of life for patients and families who face life-limiting conditions, we are committed to recognizing and addressing these challenges. Through intentional outreach, education, and listening, we strive to ensure our services are accessible, culturally responsive, and respectful of each individual’s values, beliefs, and lived experiences.

❄️ Volunteers Needed – Snow Day Support ❄️
As winter weather moves in, Coastal Hospice is looking for caring volunteers who are able to help drive our staff to and from patient visits and inpatient units when conditions are challenging.

Our patients still need comfort, care, and compassion, especially during storms, and safe transportation makes all the difference. If you have a reliable vehicle and a heart for helping, we would be so grateful for your support over the weekend and into next week.

📢 Please contact Jeffrey Gadow, Volunteer Services Manager, at: 667-252-0494 if you’re able to help, even for a short time.

Thank you for being the kind of community that shows up when it matters most.💙

On Monday, January 19, we join our nation in honoring the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., whose courageous leadership and dedication to civil rights, justice, and compassion continue to inspire us all.

We hope this day encourages reflection, service, and simple acts of kindness that uplift our neighbors and strengthen our communities.
