Injury prevention does not start after something goes wrong. It starts with awareness, education, and the right support in place.

ATI’s athletic trainers help identify strain early, guide smart load management, and provide movement education that reduces risk before downtime ever begins.

And that expertise is not limited to sports. Many athletic trainers serve as injury prevention specialists in workplace settings, helping employees stay safe, capable, and moving confidently on the job.

Neck pain from phones and computers is more common than many people realize.

Recently featured in Digital Journal, ATI’s Vice President of Clinical Development Tom Denninger, DPT, OCS, FAAOMPT explains that the issue isn’t always the device itself, but how long the head stays in one position without movement. Holding your neck still for extended periods can create stress and stiffness over time, whether you’re scrolling on a phone or reading a book.

Early signs can include neck tightness or headaches that don’t seem related at first. In many cases, those headaches start in the upper neck, where small joints can become irritated with prolonged strain.

Awareness, regular movement, and addressing posture early can make a meaningful difference. If neck pain or headaches are starting to affect your day, an ATI physical therapist can help identify what’s contributing and build a plan to support more comfortable movement.
