We have officially distributed 300 of the 400 bookbags packed for students in Wicomico County! Mardel High School, James M. Bennett High School, and Wicomico High School all invited us to distributed the bags at their Open House & Back to School Nights! It's so awesome that we were able to do this and we hope the students have a great school year!

100 of the bookbags that we packed are getting distributed tonight at Mardela Middle & High School at their Back to School night! We will have a table there from 4:30-6:30pm handing out the bags that we packed for them! Hope to see you there!

Yesterday, August 17th, we stuffed 400 bookbags that will be distributed to high school students in Wicomico County later this month 🎒. Not only did our YAB members and Salisbury University staff show up to help, but we were also happily surprised to have 75 of SU RAs show up to help! We are so happy to be able to help the community and to have the help of those around us to do it!

The bookbags will include a variety of items, including a composition book, 3-subject notebook, a pen, eraser, ruler, USB thumb drive, mental health awareness keychain, and flyers on mental health resources and SUs College of Health & Human Services

Last week two of our YAB members made a public comment at the County Counsel meeting letting them know who we are as TrueYouMd and as the Youth Advisory Board. We are all so proud of them for doing this and we also congratulate them on their recent graduation from high school! Thank you Kailey and Alexis for everything you've done for the YAB and Wicomico County and we're excited to see what you do in the future!

What does it mean to be q***r? What does it mean to be pansexual, or gender-fluid, or aromantic? Now that it's Pride month, some people may be seeing terms that they have never seen before or may not completely understand what a certain sexuality or gender identity means.
