We heard you.

Many of our Cambridge patients prefer Labcorp or are required by their insurance to use Labcorp for lab testing. To better serve our patients, our Cambridge office will be transitioning its in-office lab services to Labcorp.

Conexus will be moving out of our Cambridge office on April 30th, and Labcorp will begin moving in on May 1st. Labcorp services are expected to begin shortly after.

This change applies to Cambridge only. Our Salisbury office will continue to have TidalHealth lab services.

We are grateful to Conexus for their partnership and care for our patients over the years.

Thank you for your patience during this transition. We believe this change will make lab testing more convenient, accessible, and reliable for many of our Cambridge patients.

Earth Day is more than just caring for the planet—it’s about caring for YOU, too 🌎❤️

The environment we live in directly impacts our health every single day. Cleaner air, safer water, and greener spaces all play a role in preventing illness and supporting long-term wellness.

💡 Did you know?
Small lifestyle changes—like walking more, reducing waste, or spending time outdoors—can improve both your physical and mental health. Even a short walk in nature can help reduce stress and boost your mood.

🧠 Your health + your environment
Research shows that our surroundings influence our choices more than we realize. When healthy options are easier and more accessible, we’re more likely to make better decisions for ourselves and our families

❤️ What we believe at Sailwinds
We’re committed to building a healthier community—because taking care of our environment and taking care of our patients go hand in hand. From preventive care to chronic illness management, we’re here to help you stay on the right path.

📅 This Earth Day, try one small step:
Go for a walk, drink more water, cook a healthy meal, or schedule that check-up you’ve been putting off.

Your health matters—and so does the world around you.

Warmer days are back, and so is the “I forgot my water bottle” season.

Even spring heat can sneak up on you during sports, yard work, festivals, and long afternoons outside. Drinking fluids before you feel thirsty and pacing outdoor activity can help lower heat risk.

💡 Make hydration easier:
Keep a water bottle in the car.
Put one by the front door.
Take small drinks often instead of waiting until you feel wiped out.

If dizziness, headaches, or fatigue keep showing up, do not just “push through it.” Get checked. We can provide IV fluids if needed!

VAPA is thrilled to announce that Governor Spanberger signed VAPA’s priority legislation into law a few days ago. HB746 permits PAs who have three years of clinical experience to practice without a practice agreement. On behalf of Virginia’s PAs, thank you to the Governor, our patron Delegate Henson, and all the legislators who supported our legislation.

Eastern Shore spring starter pack:

Pollen.
Wind.
One brave person in shorts at 7 a.m.

❤️ Try this tiny spring health win:
Leave your shoes by the door.
Wash your hands and face after being outside.
Change your shirt after mowing the lawn.

Those small steps can cut down the pollen you bring inside. (American Lung Association)

Feeling stuffy, itchy, or wheezy every time the weather turns nice? We can help you breathe a little easier.

Spring on the Eastern Shore is beautiful... and a little sneezy.

If your car is yellow, your porch is yellow, and your nose is confused, you are not alone. Higher pollen can trigger allergy symptoms and can also make asthma flare ups more likely. (CDC)

🩺 A few simple moves can help:
Keep windows closed on high pollen days.
Shower and change clothes after yard work or long time outside.
Check local air quality before outdoor exercise if you have asthma. (American Lung Association)

Not sure if it is allergies, a cold, or something else? Let’s help you sort it out before spring gets the last laugh.

MINI-SERIES: How to Use AI to Advocate for Your Health

Over the next several posts, I’m breaking down practical ways patients can use AI to become more organized, better prepared, and more confident in their healthcare.

This series will cover:
• how to describe symptoms clearly
• how to prepare for appointments
• how to ask better questions
• how to understand the plan after a visit
• how to track patterns over time

As a primary care provider, I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about how patients can use technology wisely. I also completed a certificate from Harvard Medical School Executive Education’s AI in Health Care: From Strategies to Implementation, which has helped shape how I think about using these tools safely and effectively.

Important point: AI can be a helpful thinking partner, but it should support your care, not replace your healthcare provider.

Follow along for the full series.

🚨 IMPORTANT COMMUNITY ALERT 🚨

We’ve received multiple messages that a beloved internet classic has been removed from YouTube due to account termination.

Yes… that one.

Before misinformation spreads, we need our community to fact-check this immediately.

📅 Please click the link and confirm whether the video is truly unavailable: https://tinyurl.com/4ww2wm9z

No screenshots. No spoilers. Just honest reporting in the comments.

🧠 Why does this matter? Because in healthcare, we always verify before we react.

We don’t panic over headlines.
We check the source.
We look at the full picture.

💡 That same approach applies to your health.

High blood pressure? Verify it with proper monitoring.
Feeling off? Get evaluated.
Heard something online? Let’s fact-check it together.

🩺 At Sailwinds Medical Group, we believe in prevention, education, and maybe a tiny bit of harmless April Fools’ fun.

Once you’ve “investigated,” let us know what you found. And if it’s been a while since your last wellness visit, this is your real reminder to schedule one.

We promise our appointments are real. 😉
