What a Christmas we had! From the 12 days of Christmas dress up days to the Christmas Eve service, and a visit from the Elves delivering presents we had an amazing Christmas season!

Thank you to everyone who donated items for presents, those who came in to carol and/or spread Christmas joy, teammates with warm smiles and cheery words, and the volunteers who shared their time and talents with us. All of you always know how to share true Christmas magic!

Lutheran Services Carolinas' new Heartful Living dementia care initiative debuted on Monday afternoon at our Virginia Casey Center! Residents, teammates, and family members spent the afternoon with experts from Dementia By Day, LSC's partner in the new program which leverages the latest research and best practices to ensure high-quality, compassionate care for LSC seniors living with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia.

Heartful Living will launch in other LSC communities over the next few months. Stay tuned!

“My husband was a soldier in Vietnam and made a career in law enforcement—which I felt was intimidating to most home health services. Garry and Carol’s journey shows the heart of LSC communities. For nearly 10 years, Trinity Oaks has been Garry’s home. When Carol bravely faced Alzheimer’s, Trinity Oaks was their lifeline—providing care through:

• Trinity Living Center for care and engagement during the day.
• Trinity at Home for in-home support.
• Skilled Nursing at Trinity Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation for compassionate, quality medical care

Each step was delivered with sensitivity and professionalism, ensuring Carol’s dignity and comfort.

Today, Garry continues to thrive—healthy, independent, and recently back from a trip to England and Scotland! His story reminds us why our work matters: to ensure seniors across North Carolina have the care and community they deserve.
