Help First Responders Help YOU: Are You Emergency Ready?

In an emergency, every second counts. For individuals with disabilities, access and functional needs, or their caregivers, being prepared means ensuring first responders have the right information the moment they arrive.

The "Help Responders Help You" initiative teaches people to create mobile or online emergency health profiles containing vital medical information and specific needs.

Preparation is a partnership. By having your plan in place, you’re giving our local heroes the "head start" they need to provide the best care possible.

Please be aware of our motorcycle drivers now that the weather is improving!!

Please be aware of our motorcycle drivers now that the weather is improving!!

Warmer weather means more motorcycles on roadways, and unfortunately, we've already seen a few serious crashes involving motorcycles.

Factors in these crashes include speeding, aggressive, and reckless driving (lane splitting).

This is our continuous reminder to motorists and motorcyclists: slow down and look twice. Avoid aggressive, distracted, and impaired driving.

Motorcyclists use the acronym ATGATT - all the gear, all the time. Whether it's a 5-minute ride or a 5-hour ride, wear proper riding attire to be seen by motorists on the highway and to protect yourself.

Motorists - look twice, it could save a life! Check your blind spots regularly and share the road.

This week, we proudly honor our 911
Specialists during National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week.

These dedicated professionals are the lifeline between our community and emergency responders. We recognize the dedication and compassion of 911 dispatchers who serve as the first link in the chain of survival. Every call answered is a life touched, a crisis managed, and a community protected. Dispatchers have helped deliver babies and provided lifesaving instructions over the phone. They are the voice people rely on in their most critical moments.

Dispatchers, you may be unseen but you are always heard. Thank you for being the calm, reassuring voice in times of crisis. Your work is critical, your impact is powerful. We appreciate you this week and every week.
