Happy Friday JMC community
As we close out the month of January in this new decade, we want to take a moment to reflect on the losses, both private and public, many have suffered. Loss is not easy and it looks differently for each of us.

Grief is that equalizing factor that reminds all of us that we are, in fact, on a level playing field. Sometimes, it's the broken melody of a life cut short in its prime. Other times, it appears to be a drawn out goodbye. Whatever the case, we each struggle to tepidly take steps to walk back to a state of "normalcy".

As believers, even through the pain, we are reminded that our heavenly Father is near to the brokenhearted, wrapping us in His love. The grace of God gives us the supernatural ability to walk out our grief, navigate the new normal and continue the loving legacy of those who have departed.

Armed with the realization that everyone has experienced or will experience loss in this life, be kind to everyone. Life is but a fleeting breathe, gift forgiveness often. Don't assume there will be a tomorrow for everyone, if it's on your heart, do it today....

Good morning JMC community

Can you imagine how wealthier we all would be if we invested in good? Believe it or not, true wealth isn't money. It's influence, the ability to impact the outcome of another.

Imagine what our families, communities, our world would look like if we invested in the people around us? Taking the time to see someone outside of ourselves, to empathize with their plight, to give assistance without judgment.

Dividends refers to the allocation one receives in an investment they have made. If we invested in our children, not with material things, but with time, attention, discipline. If we invested in the person who seems to walk a wobbly path, if we invested in the idea of unity over division.

Anything that God gave you wasn't actually for you anyway. Your smile wasn't for you, your ability to be kind, have compassion, needs a source to be directed to. Pass it on...

You can make a shift in a moment. You can change the direction of your attention back to God. You can go from heavy to light. From beaten down to filled up. From worry to worship.

Happy MLK Day JMC community!

All across the nation, and specifically the Delmarva Peninsula, countless people will reflect on the legacy of one man who literally laid down his life for the cause that he believed in. Over the course of time, students the world over have studied the speeches of Dr. King, studied his methods, studied his life.

History has imprinted in collective minds the image of a young, vibrant man standing on an elevated podium in the bright sunshine of a morning in Washington DC, pleading with us to have the courage to partake in his dream. Unfortunately, the annals of time has done a disservice to Dr. King by pushing the agenda that this great man was an instigator, a rabble rouser, a troublemaker. Those of the lighter hue were force fed the lie that in order to reach his goal of equality, he wanted to strip others of their rights, push aside anyone who did not share his skin color. That, ladies and gentlemen, was and remains a bona fide untruth.

At his core, Dr. King was a visionary who espoused the virtues of unity among all people. In his Nobel Peace Prize acceptance speech in 1964, he stated that one day all people would have to learn to live together in peace. He went on to recognize that this would only be accomplished through a foundation of love. He patently rejected revenge, retaliation and aggression, even when met with those destructive forces. Suffice to say, Dr. King was a man who believed in justice for all people and no doubt his life's mission was to come to the aid of any group caught in the throes of oppression and systematic injustuce.

We at Jolley Memorial Chapel P.A would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the legacy and memory of Dr. King. We recognize that much of what we are able to flourish at today, would not have been possible without the courage of him and so many others like him. If we have but one request it is this: Don't just recite the memory of that publicly celebrated dream, awake from the slumber and live out loud the manifestation of peace, unity, and love. As much as it is in your power to do so, live in peace with all men.
