This patient presented with chronic knee pain from an osteochondral defect of the femur - a focal area of damage to the bone and cartilage. They also had varus alignment of their knees - “bow legged”, which overloads pressure onto the problem area. A combined osteotomy for realignment, and bone/cartilage transplant was performed to preserve the native knee joint. Patient specific instrumentation allows for precise correction with hardware designed solely for this individual.
