Would you believe your posture actually decides how fast your face ages?
Here’s how.
When we spend a lot of our time hunched over a computer or looking down at our phones…
it adds an extra 10 pounds of weight for every inch our head sits forward of the midline.
Which begins to shorten the SCM muscle here, holding our head more permanently in this forward position.
Overtime our natural upright posture slowly morphs — with our head jutting forward.
This creates a bottleneck, where nutrient rich blood flow struggles to make it to our face, while toxins and fluids aren’t able to drain out through the neck, so they collect in the face instead, causing premature wrinkles, sagging skin, hooded eyes, jowls, deepening nasolabial folds, and a double chin. Sometimes a hump will even begin to form on the back of the neck.
So Start to notice your every day posture and bring intention to sit up straight when you’re at the computer and start yo hold your phone at eye-level.
A daily ritual of opening the chest, and massaging and stretching the upper back, shoulders and neck muscles including the shortened SCM muscle can begin to bring your head back in line with your shoulders, where proper blood and lymphatic flow can be restored.
you’ll be amazed at how you’ll start to see the changes naturally happening in the face.
And if you’d like extra support, our brand new NeoLifting sculptural massage was specifically designed to help correct posture, restore blood and lymphatic flow, with targeted facial lifting techniques, and fascia release.
