Outpatient Behavioral Health

Outpatient Behavioral Health Trauma-Care for Your Safety, Health, & Well-Being! Our Trauma-Reversal Techniques (Effusion- an act of talking in an unrestrained and heartfelt way):

1.

Create space to talk about the experience/events, the memories of it, the feelings attached to it, the physiological/bodily response occurring because of it, and the fears and anxieties perpetuated as a result of it. What did you learn about yourself "to your own detriment," identify the internalized guilt/shame and other self-defeating maladaptive false beliefs.

2. Praise and acknowledge the personal sharing of this intimate and vulnerable knowledge, hold space, keep it sacred.

3. Help you pull the positive from it, see the good in it, understand the value and benefit because of it, as painful and disturbing as it was.

4. Help you understand what you learned from it, how you have grown because of it.

5. Help you identify what you gained from the trauma and see how that can be a value added to your life, relationships, and understanding of yourself and the world.

6. Help you find the value that you would rather cling to and hold on to and not "trade back."

7. Assist you in recognizing what you could teach others from the experience and who you have become because of that trauma and not "in spite" of it.

8. Help you continually re-assess and re-evaluate the way in which you are telling your trauma story and allow and encourage you to continue to re-tell the story in such an evolving way that the narrative progresses from victimhood to survivorship to thriver and deliverer of hope; over time-the trauma story has healing to do.
