SHAUNTEA In 2009, I graduated from the University of Utah with my BFA in Modern Dance. After attaining my yoga certification I started my own business, SHAUNTEA, LLC.

SHAUNTEA offers various services promoting holistic health and wellness, some of which includes Birth & Postpartum Doula Services, Childbirth, Postpartum & Breastfeeding Education, Private and Group Somatic Movement sessions & Consultations. Through my degree I studied Bartenieff Fundamentals, Somatics, Feldenkrais Method, Kinesiology, Anatomy and Childhood Development. My college education provided me with a unique knowledge of the body alongside important breathing and relaxation techniques. I studied in depth the important stages of childhood development, education and health. After college I taught in various public and private schools as well as non- profit organizations, working with children of all ages. I have been a certified Yoga Alliance yoga instructor since 2012 with a heavy focus on Meditation, Ayurveda Traditions, Anatomy, Alignment and Yoga Nidra. I currently teach group and private sessions to aid clients in stress management, relaxation and overall physical wellbeing. where I help educate clients through many facets of health and wellness. As a Doula I draw on my years of professional training, knowledge and experience to provide each client with emotional support, physical comfort and an evidence-based education throughout their pregnancy, labor and the postpartum period. I have and will continue to assist births in various settings, some of which include: home births, birth centers and hospitals. I lovingly support any and all versions of a family unit including surrogacy, adoption and the LGBT community. My goal as a Birth Doula is to help clients explore all the possibilities of a satisfying pregnancy and birthing experience. I present accurate information to ensure that you have the knowledge to make educated decisions as they arise through pregnancy and labor. I provide reassurance and a fresh perspective to you and your family in order to allow ALL members to feel supported and at ease. I make suggestions for labor progress, and assist in relaxation through soothing touch, positioning and other techniques of comfort. As a Postpartum Doula I strive to assist clients in growing their confidence as a new parent. I value being a support for families by providing as many useful tools and resources as possible. In postpartum care I help establish healthy, nourishing routines for families. As you embrace a new family member, I give continuous emotional support for the changes new parents and family members need (including pets). I provide relief of daily tasks to ensure this transitional time is spent acquainting yourself with your new child and the adjustments that come along with it. I am currently a certified Birth and Postpartum Doula through the worldwide organization, DONA International.

Winter wont keep us apart! SHAUNTEA's Sunshine Crew partnered up with Flow Acupuncture to co-host while the cold weather sets in.

We meet each week to build up a FREE support network of local parents while we talk and get in some much needed conversation.

If you want to bring your little ones (although not required) there will be plenty of space for sleeping, crawling, rolling or playing in a comfortable space with large area rugs, pillows, chairs & benches.

This is a circle for ALL expectant and postpartum parents. We welcome parents with kids of all ages as well as your new, or soon to be new babies. This isn't considered a talk therapy group, rather a group to meet YOUR people. You choose how social, or not, you want to be, based on how you're feeling that day.

Our mail goal through tis meet up is to develop as parents/care givers in a supportive, fun community. I am excited for a new season of old & new faces. I can't wait for you to take part in our funky crew!

If you arrive later than 10:30, no biggie, people can come and go when it makes sense for you.

On Tuesday afternoon the U.S. Senate passed the budget bill in a 51-50 vote with Vice President J.D. Vance casting the tie-breaking vote.

The budget bill's Medicaid funds cutoff will force up to 200 Planned Parenthood health centers to close... with 90% of those closures occurring in states where abortion is protected and legal like California, Minnesota, and New York.

I have seen a LOT of posts lately about ways partners & support people can be involved in the birth process and talking with my clients about the right birth location for them. However, no one is talking about TRUST in the birthing person as the first step. No one is talking about trusting that this deep human connection between carrier and baby have an intense knowing of where and how they need to align for their own sense of safety & nurtured rhythm to birth. So before we get to the attending a class, double hip squeezes and making sure they are hydrated through the process, spend the time deconstructing what your version of “safe” is, why it exists and how you can lean into trusting the birthing person that they can discern what’s right for them & the baby to get to the other side in their own way. Tell me if you felt supported in where you birthed your baby by your partner, friends, family & how that played a role in your own birthing experience.
