“I had been suicidal for years. I had sought help before, but it was like, ‘Here’s some medication, sleep it off and go back to your everyday life.’ I just felt myself falling further and further into the darkness. Coming here, they opened my eyes. They gave me the hope back that I needed.” - TSGT RET Justin Lee, Co-founder of

According to an article in the US National Library of Medicine, "Veterans with PTSD were significantly more likely than those without PTSD to be diagnosed with social anxiety disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder, but significantly less likely to be diagnosed with depression. In addition, veterans who had at least one comorbid diagnosis in addition to PTSD reported significantly higher PTSD symptom severity than veterans with PTSD alone."

TL;DR: if you have PTSD + Anxiety, or PTSD + OCD, your PTSD symptoms will be worse.

Please seek help if you're suffering from PTSD.

The military puts you through hard things to build your endurance and strengthen your body. When it comes to mental health, many veterans apply the training that they've learned in those other areas of the military: "Show no weakness," "Toughen up," "Keep pushing on," "Fight," "Win." With mental health, it can be deadly to think this way. Many times we need to rely on others to get the help we need. It doesn't make us weak, it makes us a team.

PTSD can present in many ways - sadness, anger, numbness, frustration, hyper- or hypo-sensitivity, addiction, anxiety, flashbacks, racing or unwanted thoughts, restlessness and more. Traumatic events leave an imprint on our minds. Treatment can help the brain store the memory in a healthy way, so the symptoms are reduced or removed. Seek treatment if you think you may suffer from PTSD.

Today the F-35s from Hill Air Force Base honored healthcare workers, first responders and veterans with a flyover targeting major hospitals in the area. We are so proud to be serving the active duty military and veteran communities, and were very touched by this awesome tribute!
