“The pain of grief is just as much part of life as the joy of love. Perhaps it is the price we pay for love… the cost of commitment.”
— Nicholas Wolterstorff
Today we pause to recognize National Funeral Director Day.
Funeral service is not simply a job; it is a calling. It means being present for families on some of the hardest days of their lives, offering comfort when words are difficult, and helping loved ones honor a life that meant so much.
At D.R. Henderson Funeral Home, we are incredibly proud of our own licensed funeral directors, Logan Henderson and Bailey Blevins, who serve our community with compassion, patience, and genuine care. Their work often happens quietly behind the scenes, but the impact they have on families during moments of loss is truly meaningful.
For over a century, our funeral home has had the privilege of walking alongside families in Saltville and the surrounding communities. That privilege is something we never take lightly.
Today we also want to recognize all funeral directors who dedicate themselves to this profession. The long hours, the late night calls, the attention to every detail, and the commitment to treating every family like their own does not go unnoticed.
To every funeral director who serves with dignity, kindness, and heart, thank you.
And to the families who have trusted us with the care of your loved ones, it has always been our greatest honor to serve you.
