Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) - Tazewell Community Health Center Pharmacy

Tazewell Community Health Center Pharmacy, part of Southwest Virginia Community Health Systems (SVCHS), is seeking an experienced and mission-driven Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) to lead our community pharmacy operations. Key Responsibilities
• Provide leadership and oversight of all pharmacy operations in compliance with Virginia Board of Pharmacy regulations, HRSA 340B program requirements, DEA, and Joint Commission standards.
• Ensure safe, accurate, and efficient dispensing of medications.
• Supervise and mentor pharmacy staff, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
• Monitor and manage inventory, purchasing, and cost controls.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with audits, inspections, and reporting requirements.
• Collaborate with SVCHS providers to support medication therapy management, patient counseling, and chronic disease management.
• Drive quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and pharmacy performance.
Qualifications
• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) required.
• Active Virginia Pharmacist License in good standing.
• Active West Virginia Pharmacist License in good standing.
• At least 1 year in a supervisory or PIC role required.
• Strong knowledge of 340B program compliance and community health pharmacy operations highly desirable.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated knowledge of local, state, and federal laws pertaining to pharmacy activities.
• Passion for serving underserved populations and commitment to SVCHS’s mission.
