Our MAP team can help eligible Southwest Virginia residents access FREE or low-cost medications through pharmaceutical assistance programs, especially if you:
✔️ Have no prescription coverage
✔️ Are in the Medicare “donut hole”
✔️ Need extra support affording medications

You don’t have to be an SVCHS patient to apply — you just need a provider willing to sign your application. Our coordinators will guide you through every step with care and compassion. 💙

🌟 Provider Spotlight: Kellie Boyd, MSN, FNP-C 🌟

Kellie Boyd, MSN, FNP-C, is a dedicated School-Based Health Nurse Practitioner serving students and staff at Virginia Primary School and Virginia High School in Bristol. Kellie has been a valued member of the SVCHS team since 2020 and brings 10 years of experience in the medical field to her role.

Kellie began her healthcare career while earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from East Tennessee State University, graduating in 2017. She worked as a CNA and nurse intern before beginning her career as a Neuro ICU nurse, a role she continued while completing her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with a concentration as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She graduated from Lincoln Memorial University’s accelerated FNP program in December 2018 and later gained additional experience in a diabetes clinic before joining SVCHS in School-Based Health.

Her passion for healthcare began early in life.

“When I was young, my brother was in an accident, and I watched people save his life. I knew immediately that I wanted to know how to do that so I could help others,” Kellie shared.

Kellie is AANP-certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner and enjoys the fast-paced, problem-solving nature of school-based health care.

“I love helping patients piece together what’s going on and determining a plan of action,” she said. “One of the best parts of my role is building lasting relationships and watching our students grow and thrive year after year.”

Outside of work, Kellie enjoys spending time with her family, who are very involved in their church. They love being outdoors together—camping, biking, hunting, and making memories through new experiences.

Kellie wants her patients to know that compassionate, attentive care is always her priority:

“When patients are under my care, they receive the same level of attention I would want for my own family. I want every patient to leave feeling heard, cared for, and supported.”

SVCHS is proud to spotlight Kellie Boyd and grateful for the compassion, expertise, and dedication she brings to our School-Based Health program. 💙

🌟 Provider Spotlight: Dr. Gitanjali Rajendram, DDS 🌟

Southwest Virginia Community Health Systems (SVCHS) is proud to spotlight Dr. Gitanjali Rajendram, DDS, a valued member of our dental care team at the Southwest Virginia Regional Dental Center.

Dr. Rajendram joined SVCHS in 2025 and brings 19 years of experience in dentistry. She is known for providing compassionate, patient-centered care and for her dedication to improving both oral health and patient confidence.

She holds a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree and maintains certifications in CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS). Dr. Rajendram’s passion for dentistry is deeply rooted in education and prevention, helping patients understand the importance of oral health as part of their overall well-being.

“I love being able to improve someone’s smile and make a difference in their overall health,” said Dr. Rajendram. “Educating patients about their teeth and the importance of oral health is one of the most meaningful parts of my work.”

Outside of the office, Dr. Rajendram enjoys running, working out, Pilates, and hiking, embracing a healthy and balanced lifestyle—values she brings into her practice every day.
