I’m officially an empty nester!

A few weeks ago I dropped off my two youngest at college, and suddenly the house is quiet (with the exception of the dogs barking at eachother).

It’s bittersweet—so much excitement for their new chapter, but also a shift in my identity. For years, being “Mom” was my clearest role. I was needed in a very real way.

Now with all 5 kids out of the house, life looks different. They still need me, just not in the same way. I’m learning what this next season means for me. 💛

Any other moms navigating this stage?

That’s a wrap on my Morocco posts (for now!). 🌍✨⁣

Looking back through these photos brings it all rushing back—the laughter while meeting farm animals, the smells of spices in our cooking class over the fire, lazy poolside moments, the joy of henna designs, camel rides, and even a little dancing with locals. 💛⁣

Until next time, Morocco. Thank you for the memories. 🌿

Visiting the school in the Atlas Mountains was such a highlight of our trip. 💛 The kids welcomed us with the biggest smiles, and before long our group had become fast friends with them.⁣

We brought game and art kits to share, and the best part was sitting down together—playing, creating, and laughing side by side.⁣

In the video, you can faintly hear the kids saying, “thank you Jodi!” 🥹

So many moms have told me that one of the best parts of our Morocco retreat was the chance to share real 1:1 time with their kid—away from routines, distractions, and the busy pace of everyday life. 💛⁣

📷: A little glimpse of those sweet mom–kid moments—dinners together, poolside chats, and time to just be.⁣

It’s often the simple moments that become the most meaningful. ✨⁣

✨ Rooftop reflections at sunset in Morocco ✨⁣

One of my favorite moments from our retreat was sitting on the rooftop together—moms and daughters journaling side by side. ⁣

Taking time to pause and write gave us space to notice what the trip was teaching us—about ourselves, our relationships, and the bigger journey we’re on in life.⁣

It’s easy to let experiences pass by without slowing down to ask: What did this mean to me? Journaling together created such a beautiful way to connect inward and with each other. 💛⁣

👉 Do you journal when you travel, or do you like to just soak it all in?

When I asked the girls what their favorite part of the trip was, they didn’t hesitate:⁣
“Visiting the village in the mountains.” 💛⁣

There, they met my dear friend Saida, who empowers Berber women through her rug-making business—preserving tradition while creating opportunity.⁣

We also spent time with local school children, sharing connection, laughter, and love across languages and cultures.⁣

The children adored our girls—and our girls adored them right back.⁣

It was a reminder of the power of presence, community, and kindness. 🌿⁣

I am so excited to go back for a second Morocco trip in a few weeks!
