WARMING CENTER IS OPEN our shelter is now open 24 hours starting today to begin preparing for this winter ❄️ storm that is expected to come in Friday afternoon. Anyone needing a place to sleep and stay warm is welcome. We will continue to operate as warming station until this winter storm passes.

All three Avir facilities in San Angelo, including Avir at San Angelo, Avir at Arbor Terrace, and Avir at Meadow Creek, will remain open and accepting referrals and admissions all weekend.

With record temperatures expected, our teams are fully staffed, prepared, and ready to support patients and families with safe, timely care.

We are here to help when it matters most.

Important information

❄️ Prepare for winter weather! ❄️
Quick tips to keep you and your household safe

✅ At Home
• Turn off sprinkler systems
• Wrap outdoor pipes & faucets
• Remove garden hoses & cover hose bibs
• Let faucets on exterior walls slowly drip
• Open cabinet doors under interior sinks to let heat in
• Never leave pets outside in freezing temps
• Never use grills, generators or gas devices indoors – CO poisoning is deadly!

✅ If Pipes Freeze
• Let them thaw naturally with warm air
• Turn off water at street cutoff if needed
• Report leaks to a licensed plumber

✅ Power Outage?

✅ Before the Storm
• Stock up on supplies & medications
• Monitor weather via apps & local media
• Follow US National Weather Service Abilene/San Angelo Texas
