Have you ever asked someone why they were doing something a certain way ?
I will guarantee you that around 75% of the time they will say, "That's how I was trained" or "That's the way it's always been done".
We were even raised, and some of us still are raising our kids the way "we were raised"
Now, I understand there are reasons for doing the things we were trained to do, or taught to do. In some cases they keep us alive. So, I get that.
However, why on Earth are we continuing to do the things that we know in our hearts are not serving us. Sometimes we do not see the logic in them, but we do them anyway because we are so afraid to do it differently.
I know that change in any form is hard. I get that.
I am not asking you to change everything about yourself.
Pick one thing that you know is not working for you and start there.
CASE- You wake up, and the first thing you do is......look at your phone...... get on social media.
That step right there can start the day off negatively in itself. You look at the wonderful pictures of a coworker who is on vacation. Having what appears to be a great time on the beach. Your brain then shifts to all the work pilled up at your job because your coworker is not there.
See where I am going ?
Do it differently !!!
Put your phone in the other room when you sleep. * I know some use it as an alarm clock.
Either find a different method, or turn off the alarm and leave it there.
That one step right there is breaking from your norm. Way to go !!
That one change..... is the start to many more my friend.
* Stop doing things just because they have always been done that way.*
I mean if you think about it........... You wouldn't even be reading this post if we stuck with the "Status Quo".
