Fun little Easter craft to do with littles:
🐑 The Springtime Chain Gang: Bunny, Lamb & Chick 🐥
Transform classic paper chains into these adorable dangling barnyard buddies! This project is a double-win: it’s a great way to practice fine motor skills with the "loop-and-link" method, and it results in festive, bouncy decorations that look amazing hanging from doorways or ceilings.
📝 Ingredients for the Craft
Colorful construction paper (pink, white, yellow, and light blue)
Googly eyes (medium size works best)
Markers or colored pencils (pink, orange, and black)
Twine or string for hanging
Glue stick or stapler
Scissors
🛠️ How to Make the Craft
Construct the Chains: Cut your colored paper into long, even strips (about 1 inch wide). Create your chain by looping the first strip and gluing the ends, then threading the next strip through and repeating. Match the chain color to the animal: pink for the bunny, white/pale pink for the lamb, and yellow for the chick.
Design the Faces: Cut out round or oval shapes for the heads.
Bunny: Add long ears with pink centers and a cute twitchy nose.
Lamb: Give it a fluffy cloud-shaped "haircut" and a little blue face.
Chick: Add a small orange triangle beak and a tuft of feathers on top.
The Final Details: Glue on the googly eyes and use your markers to draw in whiskers, mouths, and little pink cheeks.
Add the Feet: Don’t forget the bottom! Cut out oversized bunny paws, little lamb hooves, and spiky yellow chick feet. Glue them to the very last loop of your chain.
Let it Dangle: Thread a piece of twine through the top loop (behind the head) and secure it with a knot. Your springtime crew is ready to hang!
✨ A Few Tips About the Craft
Sturdy Links: If you're hanging these in a drafty area, a tiny staple in each paper loop will make them much more durable than just glue.
Double-Sided Fun: If these will be hanging in the middle of a room, consider making a second face and pair of feet for the back so they look great from every angle!
Bouncy Effect: Use slightly thinner paper if you want the chains to have more "bounce" when people walk by.
