I’m Kim Burris, Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (MFT) in El Dorado Hills. I believe that being human is a practice and that we all need support. As a holistic psychotherapist, I offer evidence based treatment with a heart centered approach. I help my clients fear less, love more, and live their best life right now. I specialize in supporting individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, and motherhood (including assessment and treatment of postpartum mood disorders, postpartum depression + postpartum anxiety). When anxiety rises, when the world feels too much, when uncertainty wraps itself around my chest, I pause.
I return to the truth that’s all too easy to forget:
We are literally spinning through space on a tiny rock, held by forces we cannot see, dancing in a universe that somehow knows exactly what it’s doing.
This remembering doesn’t make the anxiety disappear. It makes room for it.
Room to surrender what I cannot control.
Room to exhale what I’ve been holding.
Room to trust the energy that’s been holding me all along.
This is the work. ✨
Not fixing ourselves, but remembering we were never broken to begin with.
Not working so hard to control the chaos, but learning to breathe through it.
Not eliminating the uncertainty, but softening into the mystery.

Spiritual therapy is not affiliated with any religion. It’s not all woo-woo, and it’s definitely not a cookie-cutter, protocol-based therapy.
Spiritual therapy is where science meets soul.
