Fiesta season is here, San Antonio. 🎊

If you're anything like us, your calendar is already packed with can’t-miss events like NIOSA. The Flambeau Parade. Oyster Bake. Margaritas at Market Square. Dr. Amanda is personally most excited for The Parade of Pooches (and yes there are costumes)!

And while we fully support margaritas, parades, and questionable late-night food decisions
your pelvic floor may have some notes. 😅

Drinks like margaritas, beer, soda, and sparkling water can irritate the bladder and turn up urgency, frequency, and leaking.

Then you add late nights, hours on your feet, and a packed Fiesta calendar
and suddenly your pelvic floor is working harder than your group chat.

But you don't need to skip a single event! You deserve every confetti-filled moment.

A few smart swaps, better hydration, and knowing how to relax pelvic tension can go a long way.

And if symptoms are already showing up, pelvic floor physical therapy can help you get ahead of them before summer hits.

Pelvic floor therapy isn’t just for women
but somehow no one told the men!

Yes, men have a pelvic floor.
Yes, it can cause symptoms.
And yes, we treat it all the time.

From spending way too long in the bathroom, to chronic pelvic pain, to back and hip tightness that won’t go away, a lot of these issues are connected to pelvic floor dysfunction (even if no one has ever mentioned it before).

And for a lot of men, it gets misdiagnosed or brushed off completely.

At UpLift Physical Therapy & Performance, we provide pelvic floor physical therapy in San Antonio for both women and men, helping you actually get to the root of what’s going on instead of just guessing.

If your hops come with leaks
 we should talk. 💩

Your pelvic floor is trying to tell you something when “leaving the ground” also means crossing your fingers (or your legs).

And no this isn’t just part of getting older or something you have to accept after having kids!

At UpLift Physical Therapy & Performance, we take a strength-forward approach to pelvic floor physical therapy in San Antonio, which means we help you build the strength, coordination, and control to handle impact without the “uh oh” moment.

Because you should be able to jump, hop, and move without thinking twice about it.

The data on women’s health is frustrating, and it’s a big part of why UpLift exists.

The healthcare system wasn’t designed with women’s bodies in mind.

Private insurance companies classify pain with in*******se as “lifestyle-related rather than medically necessary,” meaning treatments get denied, even when a doctor prescribes them.

Women have been waiting for research, insurance coverage, and providers that actually support them for far too long.

Your pelvic floor is made of muscles, and muscles can be treated, strengthened, and healed. That’s not a lifestyle issue. That’s healthcare.

And women deserve it.

Our team at UpLift Physical Therapy & Performance, a strength-forward pelvic floor physical therapy clinic in San Antonio, deeply cares about the opportunity to give you the medical attention you deserve.

We took the UpLift team to the rodeo
and accidentally turned it into a pelvic floor experiment. đŸ€

The second the bull riders came out, every pelvic floor PT on our team was clenching and holding their breath.

Meanwhile, when the kids were chasing calves around the arena, we were all completely relaxed.

Your pelvic floor reacts to stress
even when you don’t notice it

🐂 Bulls = threat.
🐼 Calves being herded by 8-year-olds = no threat.

It’s a protective reflex for your pelvic floor muscles to automatically contract during stress or perceived danger.

The problem is that if you’re constantly stressed, bracing, or holding tension, your pelvic floor might be clenching all day long.

Over time that can lead to things like 👇

💩 pelvic pain
💩 bladder urgency
💩 pressure or heaviness

Pelvic floor physical therapy helps retrain these patterns so your body isn’t stuck in “brace mode.”

(No bull riding is involved in your appointment
promise!)

If you’re reading this, your pelvic floor is probably trying to tell you something. 👀

Most of the clients who come into our San Antonio pelvic floor physical therapy clinic don’t randomly end up Googling “pelvic floor physical therapy” for fun.

They end up here because something keeps happening

And if any of that is interfering with your day-to-day life (or honestly just your peace of mind), that’s usually your sign.

At UpLift Physical Therapy & Performance, we do strength-forward pelvic floor physical therapy, which means we don’t hand you a sheet of kegels and wish you luck.

We help you understand what’s going on, rebuild strength, and get back to living without your pelvic floor running the show.

👉 If you’ve been on the fence, book a free phone consult at the link in our bio and we’ll talk it through!

Hearing these updates is easily the best part of our job! đŸ„č

These are the kinds of wins we hear every day from clients who came in thinking leaking, pelvic pain, pressure, or postpartum issues were just something they had to live with.

But pelvic floor physical therapy helps you rebuild the strength, coordination, and confidence so you can get back to running, lifting, laughing, playing with your kids, and living without constantly thinking about your bladder or pelvic floor.

Your body just needs the right support to get there!

And yes
this could absolutely be you too.
