Meet Dr. Salameh!

Dr. Habeeb Salameh joined Gastroenterology Consultants after finishing advanced therapeutic endoscopy training from Mount Sinai Hospital at Icahn School of Medicine in New York. He received his post-graduate internal medicine and gastroenterology training at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) in Galveston and Masters in Clinical Sciences from the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences.

In addition to upper and lower endoscopies, Dr. Salameh has specialized training in therapeutic endoscopy with special interest in biliary, pancreatic, and esophageal disorders. He has expertise in postsurgical gastrointestinal leaks and fistulas management using stents, endoscopic suturing, through the scope and over the scope clips and endoluminal vacuum, Barrett’s esophagus radiofrequency ablation (RFA) and cryoablation, endoluminal stenting, diagnostic endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) with fine-needle aspiration (FNA) and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) for biliary stones and leaks management and stenting for biliary tumors.

Dr. Salameh is a clinician-researcher and has interests in outcomes research. He has published many articles in transplant hepatology, HCV, HBV, genetics of livers diseases, colorectal cancers, and therapeutic endoscopy, among many other topics. He presents his research work regularly in Digestive Disease Week (DDW), American College of Gastroenterology (ACG), and American Association for study of Liver Disease (AASLD).

In his spare time, he enjoys traveling with his wife and daughter.
