Did you know that Shiva is credited with being the creator of yoga? He’s the lord of asana to have 84 movements derived from him. Most of the time he is depicted in padmasana or (lotus pose) with his third eye open to symbolize awareness and destroying harmful desires. It’s important to know that yoga in its roots is not always about the fancy transition and uncomfortable movements or poses but even the simplest form of meditation and change of mindset to propel you to a higher state of enlightenment. Start with something small cut a small 5 mins of your day no phones or distractions to just sit and meditate and if you don’t have a mantra chant Om Namah Shivaya and see how it changes your perspective. 🕉

Sometimes we might feel a sense of helplessness or that we have little to no purpose. It’s up to us to have our small wins throughout the day to build up to the bigger goal. Next time you feel overwhelmed and frustrated try to break up your problem in to bite sized pieces. For example if your goal is to do a 20k run instead of thinking about what you haven’t done yet or how much you have left focus on one step at a time and keep moving. No matter how slow you have to move towards your goal you’ll just be more appreciative and humble by the time you reach your finish line.
