ACN has so many things to be thankful for this morning. 💙🦣

From our overflowing Friendsgiving joy to the mountain of food donated to our herd, our hearts are full.

A huge thank-you to Dr. Kristen Williams, ACN Board Member, who rallied her circle to collect bags and bags of food for our families. Your generosity is a gift.

To our fabulous Friendsgiving H-E-B volunteers — thank you for bringing the energy, kindness, and holiday magic.

To our caring and dedicated ACN staff — your passion shows in everything you do.

And to the incredible families we serve — you bring light, laughter, and love into our lives every single day.

We are grateful. We are community. We are ACN. 💙🦣✨

🎉 Happy Birthday to our amazing Behavior Therapist, Lisa Martinez-Jimenez! 🎉

Lisa brings so much warmth, wisdom, and wit to our ACN family. She’s a true computer whiz, always ready to lend a hand, and her calm, kind nature makes everyone—kids, caregivers, and coworkers alike—feel at ease. Her sense of humor is perfectly dry, her heart is huge, and when she gives you one of her quiet compliments, you feel it all day long.

We’re so lucky to have you on our team, Lisa. Thank you for everything you do to make ACN a brighter, more supportive place. 💙🐘

🌿 Coffee & Connections is back this Friday! ☕️
Join us for a thoughtful conversation on Marianismo, Autistic Identity, and Self-Care with therapist Cecilia Hernandez, LMFT-A.

Many of us carry cultural expectations about what it means to be “good,” selfless, or strong — and those expectations can feel especially heavy for autistic women and femmes. Cecilia will guide us through exploring these layers with compassion and care. 💛

✨ Friday, November 14 at 9am on Zoom
Free and open to the community.
CECs available for $10 per certificate.

Join us Friday, November 7 at 9 AM (via Zoom) for an extended Coffee & Connections presentation with Naureen Hunani, RD, founder of RDs for Neurodiversity
— just in time for the holidays!

Feeding challenges are common among autistic children—but traditional strategies can sometimes cause more harm than help. Learn compassionate, neurodiversity-affirming approaches that honor each child’s autonomy, sensory profile, and emotional well-being through a trauma-informed, neuroaffirming lens.

☕ This special session will last 30 minutes longer than usual and will be immediately followed by our virtual Caregiver Support Group.
💙 Free and open to the public. CE certificates available for $10.

Today we honor the life of one of ACN’s biggest champions, Margie Sadler Benson aka “Mama Margie”. Margie graciously donated her time, background as an educator, and love to support our clients and their families day in and day out. Her commitment to our mission is just one of the many reasons why she was an integral part of our ACN Herd 🐘. We will carry Mama Margie’s memory into all we do to serve our community. 💜
