I just had to share!
For over a year now, I have moved out the nail chair from Spa Pedicure Service and manicure services.
I needed my clients to be elevated comfortably. I had then transitioned all pedicures to the Massage Table.
The massage chair is back!
This month I had the Pedicure /Manicure chair customized for your comfort!
The chair is now higher making placing your feet in the jet with ease. The wheels have been replaced with stabilized feet. The swivel and massage features are still available.
Check out the adjustment. So comfortable.
Reasons why I offer pedicures in my studio
The pedicure has been a popular service to get in the last 30 years. For reasons I am not willing to share due to politics, the sanitation habits have worsened. TDLR (Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation) visits every salon for inspection. Many salons have changed ownership due to failing reports. Wither it be un sanitized instruments or jets. Many clients have sued salons for nail and skin infections. Keep in mind, you are most likely paying for Spa prices for, low grade wholesale skincare quality. With ingredients like water, petroleum and mineral oil being the main ingredients.
Cleaning instruments and running EPA solution through a jet takes time. Also using unregulated instruments to work on the client is illegal and can cause harm. These instruments save the nail tech time. And this is time unfortunately owners do not take, because time is money. Every client who walks through the door is subjected to infection, especially diabetic clients. Booking a service with me will give you peace of mind.
My cleaning procedures
After each client, I use hot water, soap and brush to clean all reusable instruments. I soak the instruments and jet with EPA for 10 minutes. I then place the instruments under heat UV light to kill remaining bacteria and let jet air dry.
Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation pedicure standards
The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) has specific rules for pedicure services, particularly for those involving whirlpool foot spas and non-whirlpool foot basins. These rules are designed to ensure the safety and health of clients by preventing the spread of disease. Here are the key points of the TDLR pedicure rules:
Regular Cleaning and Disinfection: Foot spas and foot basins must be cleaned and disinfected after each use and at the end of each day. They must also be disinfected at least once every two weeks.
Sanitation Records: A written record (log) must be kept for each foot spa or foot basin, documenting compliance with the sanitation requirements. This record must be retained for at least 60 days.
Chemical Concentration and Times: Utilize the minimum or greater concentration of EPA-registered disinfectant and follow the minimum or greater cleaning/exposure times when cleaning and disinfecting foot spas and foot basins.
Health and Safety: The rules are part of a broader effort to protect customers' health and prevent the spread of infectious diseases in cosmetology salons, specialty nail salons, or barbershops.
These rules are essential for maintaining a safe and hygienic environment for clients receiving pedicure services. It is important for service providers to comply with these regulations to ensure the health and safety of all customers.
For pedicure services, TDLR mandates specific tools that must be properly cleaned, disinfected, and sterilized to ensure client safety and hygiene.
Required Tools and Their Regulations
Metal Tools: All metal manicure and pedicure tools must be cleaned, disinfected, and sterilized or sanitized before each service. This includes:
Metal pushers and files
Cuticle nippers and scissors
Metal tweezers
