The Esperanza Team of Zaira Saurez, RD and Emily Prentice, LCSW gave an expert and informative presentation to the Communities in Schools professionals at Region 20 last week on ARFID. Our staff has completed a specialized training on the treatment of ARFID which makes Esperanza a go to source for the community on this topic and comes in the forefront of the launching of our ARFID Program track that will be starting this year.

Each year the Esperanza dietary team, along with other staffers, pull their cooking talents and resources to bring to life the annual “Thanksgiving Practice Feast” for our patients. Food-centric holidays can be especially daunting for eating disorder patients and it’s our goal to help them prepare for the food and the relationship challenges they may encounter this time of year.

We are so grateful for our staff that take our “Recovery by Doing” philosophy to the next level so that our patients have the opportunity to practice their skills and be ready if they might need them over the holidays.
