A previous blog looked at the results of a study that indicated young people considered “moderate to heavy drinkers” were more likely to have a stroke compared with those who were light drinkers or didn’t drink any alcohol at all. The more than 1.5 million subjects were in their 20s and 30s and part of a Korean national health database.

We've often examined the link between alcohol use, other lifestyle factors, and the effect on the brain as well as our general health. As April is officially Alcohol Awareness Month, we encourage you to please stop by our website to read this and other related articles.

March is Brain Injury Awareness Month! While this particular study that we discussed in a previous article focused on injuries sustained playing soccer, it's of course not the only sport or activity that can result in a traumatic brain injury.

Impacts can happen even in everyday settings. And while we can't go about our lives anticipating the worst, we CAN and must be aware of signs that may indicate an issue following a head injury such as:
- Headache
- Inability to wake
- Nausea and/or vomiting
- Blurred vision or other vision changes
- Drowsiness, dizziness or grogginess
- Slurred or delayed speech
🧠
Remember - if you have any concerns about a child, loved one or yourself following a head impact, always consult a physician or seek emergency assistance as soon as possible.
