Hello from my wildflower patch... it was a parking lot 3 years ago!!! Now it alerts one to the Parker ST entrance of my shoppe. Please do share NatureSpirit.com to those who may appreciate the authenticity of my products and the essential oils I import. At this point in my life my expansion is with keeping the contacts for the precious oils I use to create with from around the globe. It is time for me to keep doing what I do, but to begin to realize that I have been doing this for nearly 40 years. These years have been so full with love, life, transitions, joys & sorrows. It is best to have a clear olfactory palette when coming to experience scents. I ask those who visit and especially those who attend classes to refrain from applying anything with a fragrance such as hair products, lotions and especially synthetic perfumes & fragrances. My shoppe & my home are totally free of any synthetic fragrances. It’s how I live. Hence I have a product line that is extensive, inclusive with Spiritual resonance & practical everyday solutions for personal care & simple first aid. And pure parfums for the Soul.
I have my shoppe open here Thursday -Saturday & also by appointment. It is very important to come fragrance free if you come to my shoppe here in Onancock. Any synthetic fragrance will trigger asthmatic responses.

Read this before applying essential oils in the sun!

Some essential oils—especially certain citruses—can cause serious skin reactions when applied before heading into the sun (or a UV tanning bed). We’re talking burns, blisters, and lasting discoloration. Not exactly the radiant glow we’re going for.

Phototoxic citrus oils include:

Lemon (Citrus limon)
Cold-pressed lime (Citrus aurantifolia)
Grapefruit (Citrus paradisi)
And especially bergamot (Citrus bergamia)

But not EVERY citrus oil is phototoxic. Sweet orange (Citrus sinensis) and steam-distilled lime (Citrus aurantifolia) are sunshine-safe. Yes, lime is on both lists—because how it’s extracted makes all the difference.

Cold-pressed lime = phototoxic
Steam-distilled lime = not

And it gets a little nuanced. Because phototoxic oils CAN still be used safely on skin—if they’re properly diluted. Here are some safe drop counts for every 1 fl oz (30 ml) of carrier oil:

Bergamot: max 2 drops per ounce
Lemon: up to 12
Grapefruit: 24
Cold-pressed lime: just 4

If you put on a body oil with more than 12 drops of lemon and step out to grab the mail, you’ll likely be fine. But a walk around the block or an afternoon in the garden can pose a risk.

So go ahead and enjoy your bright, uplifting oils! Let’s just give them the respect they deserve when it comes to sunshine.
