We are dedicated to our mission "Changing Lives Through Comprehensive Treatment of Substance Use Disorders". Lifetime Recovery is the largest non-profit residential substance abuse treatment facility in Bexar and surrounding counties. Lifetime’s mission is to provide for the care of those with little or no financial resources to access services. No client is turned away strictly for the inability to pay.

Since 1963, Lifetime Recovery has aided thousands of individuals seeking recovery. Founded on the principals of Alcoholics Anonymous, Lifetime offers professional, evidenced-based, cognitive behavioral therapy and treatment with a curriculum utilizing a holistic approach to life change.

Lifetime provides outpatient and residential treatment to men and women for alcoholism, co***ne addiction, prescription (including opioids) medication abuse, methamphetamines, he**in, and other addictive. Lifetime’s core philosophy is to provide a powerful experience for each client, with the goal of providing systemic change in everyone who experiences treatment at its centers. Our programs make it possible for children to be returned to mothers, for brothers to reconnect with brothers, for fathers to become fathers again, and for families to be reunited. One day at a time turns into a lifetime, and our community is forever changed for the better. Substance Use Disorders, commonly known as drug abuse or alcoholism, impact families, children, friends, and the entire community. Substance Misuse, the use of any substance in a manner that harms oneself or others can lead to a Substance Use Disorder diagnosis. Almost everyone knows someone whose life has been affected by Substance Misuse or a Substance Use Disorder. Studies show that 1 in 7 people will develop a substance use disorder at some point in their lives. NO ONE IS EVER TURNED AWAY FOR LACK OF FINANCIAL RESOURCES.

ICYMI — KSAT captured something powerful: a campus transformed, dignity restored, and a mission that continues to grow.

Our $18M renovation expanded capacity to more than 150 beds and opened our doors to women for the first time — but the need for support has never been greater.

We appreciate KSAT for telling this story.💙

See the KSAT story below. ⬇️

Lifetime Recovery, a substance abuse treatment facility in Balcones Heights, recently completed an $18 million renovation. With the changes, Lifetime Recovery is now admitting women for the first time.

Today on , we remember our beloved campus cat, Smokey. 🐾

He wandered into Lifetime Recovery 14 years ago and never left — offering quiet comfort, companionship, and calm to everyone who crossed his path.

After a month of missing, we know Smokey has crossed the rainbow bridge, but his spirit remains a part of this place, and of all of us. 💜

If Smokey ever brought you a smile, a moment of peace, or a little comfort — share your memory or a message for him below. 🕊️💬

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. A time to stand with survivors, raise awareness, and advocate for safety, healing, and hope.

At Lifetime Recovery, we know that substance use and domestic violence often intersect, creating cycles of trauma that can feel impossible to escape. Our mission is to break those cycles by providing compassionate, trauma-informed care that helps individuals and families heal—physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

If you or someone you know needs assistance, call 210-734-6362, ext. 1. Hope is real. Help is here.
