“Somebunny” is celebrating their very first Easter 💜🐰
Our tiniest patients are getting in on the holiday fun. Our NICU and Mother-Baby units celebrated the season dressed in handmade bunny ears crafted with love by one of our nurses.
It’s all part of how we bring comfort, joy and a sense of celebration to our patients at Westover Hills, no matter where they are on their journey.

In honor of Women’s History Month, we are celebrating women saints like Saint Teresa Benedicta of the Cross. Born Edith Stein in 1891 into a Jewish family, she was a brilliant philosopher whose search for truth led her to Catholicism after reading the writings of St. Teresa of Ávila. Entering the Carmelite order, she continued to offer her intellect and faith to the Church amid rising N**i persecution. Arrested in 1942 and sent to Auschwitz, she died in the gas chambers, offering her life in solidarity with her people. Canonized in 1998, she is honored as a philosopher, mystic and modern martyr whose courage and conviction continue to inspire generations.

Today on Heritage Day, we gather as members of CHRISTUS Health, united by the heritage entrusted to us by the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word of Houston, the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word of San Antonio and the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth, who continue to guide us in compassion and service. Bless all of us, that our homes and workplaces may reflect Your love and peace. Grant us the strength to support one another, to lift up those in need and to be signs of hope. Help us build communities marked by belonging, respect and compassion. Pour out Your blessings on our ministry, our Associates, our Congregations and all who partner in our care.

When CHRISTUS Children's Pediatrician Dr. Sky Izadoost was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2023, it came as a complete shock. She had no family history and almost no warning signs. Symptoms went on for a week before a conversation with a friend led to the tests that changed everything.
Today, Dr. Sky is two years cancer-free, and her experience has reshaped the way she cares for patients and their families.
As a pediatrician, she’s always cared deeply about children, but walking through her own health journey gave her an even deeper understanding of what families carry behind the scenes.
It is this passion that has led Dr. Sky to encourage others to listen to their bodies and to advocate for their health. Colon cancer is increasingly affecting younger adults, and she wants people to know that speaking up about symptoms and getting screened when it’s time can make all the difference.

In honor of Women’s History Month, we are celebrating women saints like Saint Rose Philippine Duchesne. Born in France in 1769, she endured the upheaval of the French Revolution and years of uncertainty before finally answering her call to missionary life. In 1818, she journeyed to the United States, establishing schools and the first convents of the Sacred Heart west of the Mississippi, and serving communities in Missouri and Louisiana. Later, she ministered among the Potawatomi people in Kansas, where her deep prayer life earned her the name “Woman Who Prays Always.” Canonized in 1988, she is remembered as a patron of perseverance and a model of missionary courage and dedication.

Our Story

CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Health System was founded in 1869 by the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word. The sisters heeded the call from the Catholic bishop of Texas to care for the multitude of sick, infirm, and orphaned in the Texas frontier. When the sisters arrived in San Antonio, the population was only 12,000 and there was no public hospital - until the sisters founded CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital.
