We just finished the microtia surgery on Christopher's right ear with the natural rib cartilage technique (the gold standard worldwide). No fracture risk. No hardness. No rejection risk...for life! We just finished Elisa's right microtia and her Osia implant less than a week ago and she already looks great. Once the swelling goes down, it will even look better and her hearing will improve dramatically. We are so thankful for all of the wonderful drawings our patients give us. It means the world to us! We are also thankful to all of the support the families bring to the whole process. There is a lot of work behind the scenes from insurance authorizations, scheduling, pediatric anesthesiology scheduling, equipment ordering, etc... I am very thankful to our patients, their families, our office and all involved!!

Acabamos de terminar la microtia derecha de Elisa y su implante Osia hace menos de una semana y ya se ve estupenda. Una vez que baje la inflamación, se verá aún mejor y su audición mejorará notablemente. Estamos muy agradecidos por todos los maravillosos dibujos que nos envían nuestros pacientes. ¡Significan muchísimo para nosotros! Arturo just finished his microtia surgery using natural rib cartilage and he looks great!!! He is a rising baseball star and brought his "Arturo" jersey to the office!! We are very proud of him!!

With his parent's permission, we had to post a picture of James, our young police officer microtia patient.🙂 He was so excited to come to the office and show off his new uniform. Precious!

With so much misinformation out in the social media world about cartilage surgery for microtia, we want to share the facts with parents of these children. The rib cartilage technique is used by over 98-99% of microtia surgeons worldwide. The hundreds of thank you letters from our children tell the true story. Our patients do extremely well with no risk of fracture of their ears for life. Here, we show another happy patient from West Virginia. Nicholas just had his microtia reconstruction a week ago and did extremely well. We are extremely proud of him.
FACTS ON CARTILAGE SURGERY FOR MICROTIA:
1) Most common technique in the world (around 99% of microtia surgeons use rib cartilage as the gold-standard)
2) The new cartilage ear will NEVER have the risk of a fracture because it is the patient's natural, soft cartilage.
3) Most patient only need two days of pain medicine (OUR PATIENTS NEVER NEED TO BE HOSPITALIZED FOR PAIN CONTROL...unlike what is stated on other social media)
4) The ear will grow with the patient
5) The ear is NOT hard because it is natural cartilage
6) Can sustain trauma from sports, etc...without the worry of a fracture needing another surgery

In addition to our U.S. patients, it is wonderful to take care of so many patients from Mexico, Central and South America. Amaia visited us from Venezuela five years after her microtia reconstruction. She is about to start university. We are so proud of her!
