Last month, CBCST and the Friends of the Children's Bereavement Center held our annual Bingo at the Bereavement Center. Both new and returning Friends came together to support the mission of the Center. It was such a fun night and we had a great time connecting with so many Friends why our work is so important. Thank you to our Friends board and Bingo committee for all that you do! Your support year-round allows us to walk side-by-side with families as they navigate grief.

November is Children's Grief Awareness Month. This month, we come together to raise awareness about the impact loss has on children. Children process grief differently from adults, and the mission of the Center is to support the unique needs of bereaved children as they navigate life after a death loss🦋

This month, the Children's Bereavement Center of South Texas held an event to welcome the founding members of our Monarch Society. The Monarch Society pays tribute to the monarch butterfly, renowned for its quality of courageous endurance that has long-represented the Center's focus and perseverance on behalf of the children and families it serves. At this event, we honored Marian Sokol for her leadership and advocacy of the Monarch Society. Today is the day - Big Give 2025 is officially underway! We're raising funds to support the creation of care kits - small packages with tools for self-regulation and resources for caregivers. Since July, we have distributed over 500 and the need continues to grow. By giving this Big Give, you can help us reach more families with these special kits.
