Introduction
Although the pen name that I chose to use is "fictional," this
publication is a true life account of events that I really experienced. I
struggled dearly to write these events down as they were occurring..,
(to me,) so that hopefully it will be of help someday to those
who may also become stricken with this condition. While I was writing and editing this story, I then began to recollect
many previous encounters with people from my past, who would voluntarily
tell me their own version of this story. The story that I heard them tell me,
was a cautionary tale.., about how they had become stricken with either
this exact same affliction, or one that certainly sounded very similar. I will include the occasional reference to their stories in here, so that
you could see that.., at one point in my life, I too was in total disbelief
of something like this ever even being remotely possible. As I would listen
to these people telI me their plight.., I began to think that they were becoming
"crazy as a loon," from living somewhere so remotely away from
civilization, until eventually, one day..,
although I never moved out of the city..,
this actually happened to me too. Just like the people who once told me their stories,
I too, was NOT being believed by anyone at all. I NEVER received any help or treatment,
until it was almost too late. This is written text and not an auditory book,
but yet you will still be able to detect a note of
cynicism, and/or sarcasm. After you read this story,
I am hoping that you can understand why. disclaimer;
In writing about my experience, I am in no way bashing any food source
that is produced and sold in the U.S. The meat
industry tells us that.., animal(s) that are raised in the U.S. for human
consumption, are produced to strict and stringent health standards..,
therefore there is no danger of disease transmission passed along to the
consumer, as long as they are properly prepared and thoroughly cooked. how would they be able to protect these
livestock animals from biting flies and disease,
because after all..,
aren't animals raised outdoors? If you are using an "e" reader to view this, you might not get the full
experience because the pics. You may also see excessive
spacing or crowding at times, in an attempt to fit topics to one page for the
conventional, "Book," print format. Most publications I have viewed are
double spaced.., so I figure that this is just the way it is meant to be done. Also, because this condition has caused me to suffer migraines and vision
problems, I have to keep the wording on the page kind of narrow and centered.., so that
my eyes do not have to dart side to side so much, ( as if I were watching an auto race.) If I word this too wide?.., my eyes begin to tire quickly, and then they spasm. It just reads easier this way. As I go public with this.., I realize that at some point I may have to eventually
reveal my true identity, and thus face personal humiliation not only for myself,
but also for my family.., but by telling you about this true encounter, I hope to
help, YOU, or any others who may suffer this strange affliction. Although
this condition has caused me to suffer a lot of mind fog and confusion.., I
hope that I am still capable of writing this article in such a clear and concise
manner, that you the reader will be "nodding" your head at times and say..,
yes, I understand. Although this is a serious matter.., an unintended pun or double entendre
just happened there, sorry about that.
;-)
Summary
"Father knows best,"..,
was a popular T.V. show that aired around the year 1960. I was not born until a few years later, but when I saw a re-run episode
of this show titled.., "Spaghetti for Margaret," I chose to adopt this
author pen name in writing this publication, because I could really
identify with the character in this segment named,
Harper Eames. Harper was a kind, timid gentle man.., a self proclaimed
author, who was merely trying to survive and get by. Although he was
not doing anyone any harm.., all throughout this episode, the towns'
people would make light of his meager existence. They would take
great pleasure in observing him in his "frugal" ways, and they would
laugh and scoff at him behind his back. The town's folk, made up the following
silly little rhyme about poor, old,
Harper Eames...,
"Harper Eames, lives on beans,
and his mind is full of dreams!"
Living on beans, is something I am certain that almost everyone has
had to endure at some point in their lives. Unfortunately, it had come to a
point in my life where I could no longer work because of a severely debilitating
back injury.., and beans were a common staple food that I had become
accustomed to eating.., not only now, but even while I was growing up. Being that I am the youngest of 7 children, living on beans is nothing
new to me.., but I never really thought that eating them on a regular
basis,(with some animal meat added to them,) could have such disastrous
results. Just like the afore-mentioned fictional character, I too have always wanted
to write a book someday. Yes, I too was scoffed at, and ridiculed about this..,
but if YOU went through such an awful experience like this, would you keep it
to yourself?.., especially if you felt that by telling your story, it might be of help
to others? Never did I think that another one of my "near death" misfortunes, (caused
from continuously eating beans?) would necessitate that I get to work and
write about this affliction. While I was doing my research, I looked for similar
true life experiences on the subject matter of ~parasites~ .., but there really
weren't many 1st person accounts written by the actual sufferer. Most of the
accounts that I have read, were being told from the viewpoint or perspective of
the researcher, and/or the medical community.., and they were being presented
more along the lines of,
"you just take some pills, and get rid of it..,"
as if this were just some kind of short term ailment, instead of the life
threatening, mind altering, long term event.., like what I will share with you in
this story. This tale begins with an introduction featuring biting flies.., the
MULTIPLE types of parasites that they can transmit, and the health hazards
that ultimately occur later in the life of the Mammal as a result of this. I then
continue on to discuss about the various different ways that you can unknowingly
become afflicted. These micro-biological life forms could already be inhabitting
your body.., and yet you may not even know it. They can thrive inside you,
and yet they continue to go totally undetected by your immune system. When they reproduce to the point of a full blown infestation, you will
definitely feel something is amiss in your bodies eco-system.., but yet you
cannot quite convince anyone of this. You will get to the point to where you
feel as though you are no longer the one who is actually in full control of
your thoughts, and/or your body.
~ Have you ever felt like this?, ~
then please continue to read my encounter with this bizarre experience..,
because I never, EVER thought that anything like this would ever happen to
me either, even though I had already been cautioned about this numerous times
in the past by people who had become stricken with this exact same affliction. The study of U.S. history tells us that biting flies, (and the parasites that
they transmit,) have been present here on the N. American continent for
centuries.., and that they probably travelled here onboard African slave trade
ships. I wasn't able to find any articles about the exact type of fly that is
pictured above.., but I did however find a similar looking "pollenating" type of fly
that is said to merely be a nuisance to humans, and animals.., and that other
than their painful bite, they cannot cause any serious harm. I was unable to find ANY cautionary tales of "infectious," flies being
found here locally in N. America, and the flies that are known to transmit
diseases are said to be found ONLY in Africa, and South, and Central America..,
(or so I have been told by ALL the U.S gvt. agencies that I have contacted.,)
and also these same U.S. agencies say that there have been "absolutely
NO encounters or reports of illnesses transmitted by biting flies reported
in humans anywhere here on the N. American continent." The first part of this book talks about..,this "infectious" type of Fly,
the Parasite(s), that they transmit, and how they can now both be found
here in S. Texas. Oddly enough.., there are really no large scale entomology
labororatories located anywhere near S. Central, Texas..,
these are mostly classroom type learning centers. There are some laboratories located in Universities further to the North,
but even when I contacted these entomology departments.., they were
in dis-belief of my personal account/experience with these flies, so they
dis-counted it. After much deliberation (and a few years of prodding..,)
some of them have finally become willing to study these flies with me. I was hoping that these labs would be able to share what knowledge they
could gather through their resources, and/or lab experiments on this particular fly,
(so that I could include it later on in this publication..., )
BUT,
They were insistent however in telling me that even after study.., they would
still not ever even be able to confirm whether or not these flies were even
capable of transmitting disease(s.)
