NEW BILLING COMPANY

Dear Wonder Kids families,

Our pediatric practice has recently switched to a new billing company. This change was needed to help our office keep up with the ever-changing and complex world of medical insurance, and to ensure that our billing processes are as accurate and efficient as possible.

We understand that billing and insurance can be confusing and overwhelming, and we want to help simplify it as much as possible.

Our new billing company is experienced and committed to providing you with clear, concise statements and answering any questions you may have.

We do not have the Pfizer COVID vaccine in our office because of storage limitations. The vaccine should be available at local pharmacies such as CVS, Walgreens and HEB. We will update you if this changes.

E-VISIT UPDATE:

We hope that you are all staying home and staying safe. This is a difficult and trying time for all of us and we want you to know that we are here for you if you have questions or need an appointment.

We are now able to do E-visits (Telehealth) in order to continue taking care of our patients and helping them avoid unnecessary trips to an urgent care or emergency room. Please call our office for more information.

Also many parents have been asking if they should reschedule their child’s well visits. We are following the recommendations of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). They say that In light of the pandemic, pediatricians need to continue to provide well-child visits and immunizations for newborns and young children but delay such visits for older adolescents. We are praying for all of you and look forward to seeing you again soon.

Wonder Kids Pediatrics COVID-19 Policies 3/15/2020

Our top concern is the health and safety of our patients, their families, and our community. Because of this, we are instituting the following policies during the COVID-19 pandemic.

1. We cannot test for COVID-19 in our office. While we are happy to answer your questions over the phone, we ask that you not bring your children to the office if you believe they have COVID-19.
2. The San Antonio Metropolitan Health District has set up a hotline to answer your questions 210-207-5779
3. We are keeping one block of rooms just for well-visit patients. If you want to take the extra precaution of not coming to the office at this time, please call to reschedule.
4. If your well-visit child or any other family member you plan to bring along to a well-visit is sick, please call to reschedule.
5. We are looking into offering video consultations and will keep you updated. These may not be covered by your insurance provider.
6. As always, we will continue to wipe down surfaces in exam rooms between patients.

CIGNA PATIENTS: While we are in network with Cigna generally, Dr. Owen is not part of the LOCAL PLUS plan and will not be able to care for those patients.

As always, it is your responsibility as the patient/parent to confirm with your insurance company that a doctor is in network with your specific plan.
