DOCTOR SPOTLIGHT: Get to know our doctors!!

Dr. Steven Campbell, O.D.

Dr. Steven Campbell is a Doctor of Optometry and Optometric Glaucoma Specialist. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from New England College of Optometry in 1988 and completed a hospital-based residency in ocular disease at the Baltimore VA. Dr. Campbell was a member of Phi Beta Kappa honor society and chapter President of Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honor Society. In addition, he also held the position of class President during optometry school. Following residency, Dr. Campbell gained experience in the private sector before starting Sharp Eye Consultants with his partners. Additionally, Dr. Campbell is an adjunct faculty member at the University of the Incarnate Word Rosenberg School of Optometry and University of Houston School of Optometry and is involved in clinical instruction of 4th years. Since 1989, Dr. Campbell has acquired considerable experience managing ocular disease in a geriatric population.

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, doctors have made great sacrifices to keep Americans safe. Doctors of optometry provided urgent and emergent eye care for over 206,000 patients at the height of pandemic lockdowns in March 2020, diverting vulnerable populations away from emergency departments coping with surging coronavirus caseloads. Today, they are part of the hardworking COVID-19 vaccinator workforce. This , we want to thank doctors of optometry for the essential care they provide!
