October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month

For every parent whose arms ache for a child they can no longer hold—your pain is seen, and your love is eternal.
We honor the beautiful souls who were called to heaven far too soon and the families who continue to carry their light.

The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Psalm 34:18

For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep.
1 Thessalonians 4:14

Michel Odent’s work reshaped the way we understand birth. He reminded the world that childbirth is not just a medical event—it’s also a profoundly emotional and transformative experience.

When he spoke of protecting the emotional state of pregnant women, he was pointing to something often overlooked: that a woman’s feelings of safety, calm, and trust directly shape her birth experience. Stress, fear, and pressure can interfere with the natural process of labor, while feeling supported, respected, and truly seen allows mothers to birth with confidence.

This is exactly why doulas are so necessary. We are there to hold space, to listen without judgment, to remind families of their power, and to help protect that emotional environment that is just as vital as the physical. Whether a mother chooses an epidural, a home birth, or anything in between, her emotional well-being deserves care and protection.

As we honor Michel Odent’s incredible legacy, we also recommit ourselves to his vision: a world where every birthing woman is surrounded not only with medical skill, but with humanity, dignity, and compassion.

In memoriam: Michel Odent (1930-2025) 🕊️

Pregnancy cravings? We feel you 😅 But what you eat now impacts both your energy and your baby’s growth. This post breaks down:

✅ Foods that fuel you and baby
⚠️ Foods to limit to protect your blood sugar and overall health

No judgment here—balance is everything. Treats are fine, but steady, nutrient-rich meals make a world of difference for you and your baby.

💡 Tip: Swipe through, save for later, and share with a friend who’s expecting. Your future self (and baby!) will thank you 🩷

Birth partners — birth support isn’t just moral support.

Set the mood. Speak up for her. Keep the snacks + drinks coming. Stay hands-on.

The first 48 hours after birth can feel like falling in love, running a marathon, and pulling an all-nighter all at once 🩷

Your body is healing, your hormones are shifting, your baby is learning how to be a human — and you’re learning how to be their human.

This is the messy, beautiful start of your postpartum journey, and mama… you’re doing better than you think.

Jesus didn’t compare suffering to something abstract. He chose birth. Real, raw, and sacred.

Birth stretches every part of you—body, mind, spirit. And yet, in that same moment of agony, something miraculous happens:
You meet your baby.

Science backs this up: during labor and postpartum, your brain releases oxytocin and endorphins, natural hormones that dull pain, increase bonding, and literally reshape how you remember birth.

It’s not that women forget the pain entirely. It’s that the joy is so overwhelming, so rooted in love, that it eclipses the suffering.

Jesus knew this when He said, “Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy.” (John 16:22)

Pain has purpose.
Suffering brings life.
And the joy that comes after?
No one can take that from you. 🤍
