💥 Back Pain, specifically low back pain, is one of the most common types of chronic pain. With over 70% of American adults claiming to deal with some kind of back pain, you think we'd know the cause.
🏋♂️I'll tell you for one thing, it isn't because 70% of American adults are lifting weights. It's because we have created a culture of sedentary (usually seated) beings.
🪑 I'm not saying after a hard day, you can't take a load off and throw your feet up. But what I am saying is prolonged sitting places tension on the low back, compresses the spine, & forces load onto muscles that don't have the capacity to support us in that position.
🚶♂️If you have to sit for long periods of time, get up for 5-10minites every hour to give your spine a chance to relax and be in its strongest, most natural position.
💪🏽Exercises like Deadlifts, Reverse Hypertensions, Good Mornings, & Squats have all shown to be hugely beneficial in increasing the capacity of these muscles.
