Our Story

The Birth Center Stone Oak was conceived by Joi Brock who realized the need for out-of-hospital birth center options in the area after moving to San Antonio in 2000. Joi’s practice in midwifery began in 2006 and the Birth Center opened its doors in 2012 with the belief that birth is a normal process of a woman’s body – it is a joyous, celebrated occasion. A woman who feels supported, informed and respected will embrace her journey through birth with empowerment, excitement and satisfaction.
