Meet Inelda Netek, Respiratory Therapist at Sail Healthcare. 💙

Born and raised in Corpus Christi, TX, Inelda brings over 35 years of respiratory care experience to our team. With a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary science and a background in teaching at every level, from elementary school to college, she has a gift for educating patients and caregivers on how to confidently manage home-health equipment.

Inelda is proud to be part of Sail, sharing: “We offer patients the chance to be more independent and be at home with their loved ones. I am proud to be part of this great organization.”

November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month 🤍

Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths worldwide, but together, awareness can lead to earlier detection, better treatments, and more hope. At Sail Healthcare, we stand with patients, families, and caregivers facing lung cancer.

Here’s what you can do:
• Know the symptoms
• Get screened if you are at high-risk. This has the potential to dramatically improve lung cancer survival.
• Support clean air initiatives- smoking does contribute the biggest risk, but pollution and secondhand smoke are also major risk factors.
• Stand with survivors and those affected – your voice and support matter!

This month, let’s shine a light on prevention, screening, and support for every life touched by lung cancer.

Every year, 1 in 10 babies is born too soon. At Wave and Sail Healthcare, we honor the strength of premature babies and their families, and we are proud to play a role in their journey.

From providing respiratory support and medical equipment to being there for families as their little ones grow, we’re committed to compassionate care that helps preemies thrive beyond the NICU.

This weekend, crossed the finish line at the TCS New York City MarathonwYorkCityMarathon! Sail’s patient Charlie and his father Rusty joined more than 60,000 runners at this iconic event, proudly representing Wings of Texas.

Wings of Texas continues to make incredible strides toward a more inclusive, joyful Coastal Bend community. Their commitment and heart inspire us every day. We can’t wait to see where goes next!!

It’s COPD Awareness Month 🧡

What is COPD? Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease is a progressive lung disease that includes conditions like emphysema and chronic bronchitis. The month is dedicated to:

• Raising awareness about COPD, its symptoms, and risk factors.
• Encouraging early diagnosis and better management of the disease.
• Educating patients, families, and caregivers about treatments, pulmonary rehab, and lifestyle changes.
• Promoting advocacy for more research, resources, and support.

There are many organizations that raise awareness during this month, COPD Foundation, the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI), among others.

This month, we encourage early testing, awareness of symptoms, and conversations with healthcare providers. Together, we can raise awareness, break stigma, and support those impacted.

Let’s breathe better, together. 🫁
