My research proves that helmets used for military, sports (football, hockey) and transportation (bicycling, motorcycling) applications do not provide adequate protection against traumatic brain injury. As a result, there are a large number of unnecessary deaths every year due to brain injuries fr...

Bell Moto-9 flex helmet incorporates multi-layer liner and a mechanism intended to address the risk of brain injury associated with rotational accelerations. I would be interested to test this helmet with comparison to other motorcycle helmets to see how it performs in terms of reducing linear and angular accelerations associated with head impacts.

Bell is committed to providing purpose-built solutions that provide across-the-board head protection for the modern rider. So when it came to evolving the ra...

I have just posted an interesting piece, titled "A Generation of Young Football Players Exposed to Brain Injury", which discusses the failure to implement helmet testing standards to minimize the risk of catastrophic brain injuries, such as subdural hematomas, which have resulted in more than 30 unnecessary deaths among high school and college football players during the past 10 years.

Young Football Players Exposed to Brain InjuryWhether playing pee-wee, collegiate or professional football, every player has a mother on the sidelines who worries about the risks of brain injury and long-term consequences that their child is exposed to. Indeed, many mothers are now refusing to allow…

BOISE -- In recent years, the relationship between playing football and concussions has been a huge sports story. Some scientists say the risk of getting a concussion on the field could be reduced by choosing certain football helmets.

Do helmets help protect players from concussions? A new study says that helmets may do little to protect players from blows to the side of the head, or from rotational forces.
