Massage for elders also reduces pain and swelling, lowers blood pressure, and decreases stress, fear and anxiety. Greater social interaction enables the release of endorphins and strengthens a sense of well-being.
I would add that if you struggle with gifts for the older person in your life, massage is a biggie. We don’t need more “stuff”. But the gift of touch is priceless!! (And often hard to afford.)
