Happy ST day!! Re-posting ST feeding videos and messy play handout enjoy ☺️

Week 2: (Feeding)
Babies: (SEE VIDEOS POSTED)
* Spoon Feeding-The J scoop technique and lateral spoon presentation
* Instructions: Lateral presentation: Hold the spoon to your child's mouth laterally instead of "head-on" and tip the spoon to encourage upper and lower lip closure around the spoon. J scoop: Place the spoon in the middle of your child's tongue and apply a slight downward pressure. As they close their lips around the spoon, make a "J" in the air to clear the spoon. ***Do not scrape!!

Toddlers:
* Helping out in the Kitchen
* Instructions: Make something together in the kitchen! Assign them simple tasks such as stirring, pouring, and scooping as you prepare dinner or a special treat. The more that a child is involved with preparing a food, the more likely they are to try it. Preparing food together is a great way to expose your child to new textures, smells and tastes in the kitchen.

School age:
* Changing up Classic Favorites
* Instructions: Use cookie cutters, food coloring, and your creativity to change up some of your child's favorite and most popular foods. This helps them to feel like they are eating something new and not feel the "burn out" of eating the same things every day.

Happy Friday everyone!! See below for ST activities :)

Babies: Peek A Boo
Instructions: Playing peek a boo with your baby teaches them so much about play and attention! You can use yourselves, some of their favorite toys, or a mirror. Wait for all the giggles!

Toddlers: Marble Painting
https://artfulparent.com/marble-painting-for-kids/
Have your child request each color that they wish to use and how many dots to make of each before letting the marbles roll! It may seem tedious, but using each color as an opportunity for them to request and use their words makes a big difference in expanding their expressive language!!

School Age: Eric Carle Books
Read a book by Eric Carle (Or use his Youtube Read-A-Longs!) Ask your child questions about each page, like: "What do you think will happen next?", "How are they feeling?", "Where are they going?" Asking and answering "WH- Questions" (Who, What, When, Where, Why) is an important receptive and expressive language skill and these books are great for them! There are also a wide variety of crafts associated with these books. Here are a few:

Marble painting for kids is an easy and fun action art activity that results in a wonderfully abstract work of art. Fun variations included in this article!
