Today we honor and salute our own Dr. Hallett and his fellow USAF veterans, along with all veterans from every branch of service. Freedom isn't free, and we appreciate your bravery and sacrifice!

Locally, we congratulate Dr. Krista Shaw and Dr. Curtis Pacheco, 2 Fellows-in-Training at Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center (Dr. Hallett's alma mater). They won the 2025 Fellows-in-Training (FIT) Bowl in Orlando, an academic competition that is held each year at the annual meeting of the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology.

This is a highly prestigious honor and carries a lot of weight within the allergy community! As a graduate of that program, Dr. Hallett extends his "congrats" to these current Fellows!

As the holidays get closer, it’s time to start planning those fun get-togethers: Friends-giving, all sorts of fun December parties, and of course, New Years! However, if a few guests have food allergies you may start to wonder if you can pull of a great party that everyone will enjoy. Of course you can! We’ve got a few tips for you on how to host a holiday party with food allergies.

Step 2: Ask those bringing dishes to clearly label their dish and to list any known allergens in it (Contains gluten and peanuts, for example)

Most people are familiar with allergy shots—they’re the most common type of immunotherapy in the U.S. But finding time for weekly injections isn’t always easy. That’s where allergy drops come in! They’re a safe, effective alternative that you can take at home.

Here’s how it works: after your allergy testing is complete, we create a custom extract prescription tailored to your specific results. You’ll then take a simple daily dose of your allergy drops and gradually work your way up through the dilutions. The best part? You’ll reach your maintenance dose in just one month.
