Liver 4 Joel My son, Joel Ochoa, was born with a rare metabolic disorder that has taken a toll on his body and growth.

A living donor transplant is his best hope for relief and for a future where he can simply be a kid without the constant shadow of his illness.

Good morning! Day 2 post-op update:

Joel is awake and just naps for a bit when he gets his pain meds. They are taking out 1 of his iv's and his foley will be taken out later today. They will start makimg him sit and walk so that his bowels can start working. They gave him a little bit of Lasiks because he is still swollen and retaining his fluids instead of excreting them. They also let him start drinking fluids only! All good news!

Great news! Joel is finally out of his 12 hr surgery and is stable! Thank God! He will be extubated later today and star...

Great news! Joel is finally out of his 12 hr surgery and is stable! Thank God! He will be extubated later today and start to wake up! All of his labs are looking good! Ty everyone who reached to me and who prayed for my baby! He still has a long way to go but will soon be back to his normal goofy self with the help God, his amazing doctors, his family and friends, and prayers!
