*They Offer SUPPORT and Guidance

*Midwives ‘Network’ with and ‘Collaborate’ with multidisciplinary professionals
*They enable people to retain THEIR autonomy
*Midwives ADVOCATE for their client’s

WHO's emphasis on midwives' roles can lead to better pregnancy outcomes by:

1. Encouraging personalized care:
Continuous support from midwives fosters trust and understanding.
2. Risk management:
Midwives can identify potential issues and collaborate with physicians if/when need arises.
3. Holistic approach: Multidisciplinary care considers physical, emotional, and social aspects of care.

By promoting this approach, WHO aims to reduce disparities and improve maternal and infant health worldwide.

Seeking Midwifery Care offers a multitude of benefits with optimal outcomes.

The World Health Organization (WHO) today released new guidance to help countries adopt and expand midwifery models of care - where midwives serve as the main care provider for women and babies throughout pregnancy, childbirth, and the postnatal period.
